That’s Russsian for Larisa. The name I’ve given my new Autumn/Winter 2008 collection from Pimpinette.
And the Larisa I’m thinking of is, of course, the one played by Julie Christie (“the most poetic of all actresses”, according to Al Pacino) in David Lean’s hauntingly beautiful movie, Dr Zhivago.
I saw it a while back.
And then I had to see it again. And again. Before I realised that I really had to have the intricate finish of that period, the Russian or even Cossack feel of splendour and the exotic, in my new collection.
